Ram Maya's Story: From Struggle to Empowerment
WISE Nepal trained women farmers like Ram Maya on soil health, sustainable nutrient management, and how to produce organic biofertilizers at home. They also provided starter kits that allowed women to begin producing fertilizer themselves. “For the first time, I realized I did not have to depend on expensive fertilizers from the market,” she says. Today, Ram Maya produces her own fertilizer using materials from her farm and household. Her soil is healthier, her vegetables grow better, and she spends far less money on inputs.
